About

I am a versatile artist with a strong foundation in product development from initial concept to final product. For the last 12 years, I have worked at JCPenney, primarily serving as a Senior Textile Artist for children’s private label brands, also contributing artwork across other areas within the company. I played a key role in launching Thereabouts, the newest brand in the children’s department, contributing art for sportswear, sleepwear, swimwear and outerwear.

My creative process is rooted in strategic thinking and trend research and interpretation, collaborating closely with the trend and design teams, building mood boards, researching seasonal color palettes, patterns, and consumer behaviors to create cohesive graphics, prints, and repeat patterns that align with the brand DNA, particularly for Thereabouts.

I recognize that while it’s good to be aware of competitors and economics to build a good customer experience, I believe in starting with the customer and working backwards, earning their trust through an understanding of the customer first. I try to see a big picture perspective instead of sacrificing the long term just for short term goals. I also believe in using strong judgment, seeing the value in diverse perspectives, and also continuous self-improvement, holding myself to high standards. I am committed to delivering quality results in a timely fashion.

Before JCPenney, I worked as a Graphic Artist at Kohl’s, focusing on women’s private label apparel (Sonoma and Tek Gear) and supporting additional departments as needed. Over the years, I’ve also contributed to major brands and retailers including Gibson Guitars, Harley-Davidson, Timberland, NCAA College Football, Tony Hawk, PBR, Bass Pro Shops, and Cabela’s, as well as Bonton, Kmart, Sears, Mervyn’s, and Shopko.

Specialties: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Kaledo Weave/Print/Knit, NedGraphics, graphic color separation.
